Chris Mortenson,
elected to the Board at our December 2003 meeting, is, like the other Chris, a devoted family man. He and his wife, Winnie, have three children, Jessica, Jon, and Christopher, and they started renting on Nantucket in 1986, when the children were 16, 13, and 5. As refugees from the New Jersey shore, they fell in love with the natural and architectural beauty of the island, and, in 1993, bought an historic house on Academy Hill, which they have been faithfully restoring ever since. After earning a BA in Economics from Harvard and an MBA from Stanford in Finance, Chris began his business career at Arthur Young and Company as a financial auditor and management consultant, and spent seventeen years as an investment analyst with Alex. Brown and Sons and its successor firms. Most recently, Chris was a part-time Venture Partner with Deutsche Bank.
Breaking News: Chris just started a new job as Managing Director with Intergrated Corporate Relations (ICR) Inc., which provides strategic investor-relations services to public companies. You heard it here first. While focusing for the past 30 years on family and business, Chris concentrated his volunteer activities on his church in Peapack, New Jersey, and to fund-raising for Harvard. Having agreed recently to join the NPT Board because he cares deeply about the Islands architectural heritage and believes in our mission, we expect Chris will focus on our goals with intensity, relieved by ample timeout for golfing, sailing, and the savoring of fine wines.
