Elin Hilderbrand Cunningham
Director

Elin Hilderbrand Cunningham,
with her husband, Chip, has been a year-round resident of Nantucket since 1998, is also an educator and, yes! is, indeed, the youngest member of our Board! With degrees in Writing from both The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Iowa’s renowned Creative Writing Program, Elin may be best-known to you as the author of three novels set on Nantucket and published by St. Martin’s Press: The Beach Club, Nantucket Nights, and Summer People. However, she might prefer to be known as the mother of two adorable little boys (Max, almost 4, and Dawson, 1 _+) who joined our Board because she “wanted to work to preserve the architecture of Nantucket for my children and their children.” For several years, Elin worked as paralegal for Island attorney, Richard Loftin, and in that capacity had “responsibility for the minutiae of preservation restrictions.” She will be an invaluable member of the Restriction Program Committee.
