Tara Grunwald,
is our new “Office Administrator,” a title which does not even begin to capture her and the ineffable spirit she has brought to the NPT. Tara began with us part-time last September, moving from the non-profit Nantucket Community Sailing, where she was Office Manager/Fundraising Coordinator for two years. We knew within days that we wanted and needed her full-time.
Tara is bright, efficient, attuned, flexible, and organized. Moreover, she knows the Island, having lived here on and off since 1992. Tara attended UMass-Amherst, where she studied English and Technical Writing. She lived in Bend, Oregon, for 3 years, where she worked for “The Source”, an alternative weekly newspaper. She also lived in Anchorage, Alaska, for two years where she worked for an advertising agency and spent time in the Chugach mountains snowboarding. She loves to cross-country ski, hike, camp, and read, and has a girl cat named Leroy. Tara acknowledges that “she was always drawn to the unique architecture and unity of Nantucket.” Sandy Kendall picked up on that aesthetic pull and guided Tara to NPT. A serendipitous pairing.
