2010 August Fête
The August Fete is NPT's premiere fund-raising program and is among the summer's most anticipated events. This year's Fete featured a tour of five private homes in the Vestal Street neighborhood and provided particpants with a rare glimpse of historic house interiors, some of which have never before been open to the public. Among the evening's highlights were the special tours of the Maria Mitchell Birthplace and the old Observatory. Guests enjoyed a gala reception presented by Nantucket Catering Company and Spanky's Raw Bar with music by The Shingles.
We are thankful to the Maria Mitchell Association for working with us on this event, as well as our coroprate underwriters, Brown Brothers Harriman, our generous silent auction donors and all of our dedicated volunteers and committee members. Click here to see more images.
2010 Summer Kitchen Tour
NPT’s Sixth Annual Summer Kitchens Tour was held on Thursday, July 15 from 10a.m. - 4 p.m., highlighting kitchens on historic Union and Flora Streets.
Each year this special event illustrates how historic kitchens can be sensitively updated or incorporated into everyday life. Trained docents provided architechtural tidbits and history on the homes.
Several of the homes hosted local chefs, including: Liliana Dougan of Si Mangia, Lulu Powers author of Food to Flowers, Laura McCloskey of Cowboy's Meat Market, and Tom Walsh of Town.
We wish to thank all of our volunteers, committee members, homeowners and KAM Appliances.
