Practicality and function are critical to successful kitchen design. The countertops are pietra cardosa, a sandstone type of granite that is suitable for commercial use, yet appealing and appropriate for residential applications. The custom sink offers ease in use for a variety of kitchen tasks without difficult maintenance. To simplify loading and unloading, we raised the dishwasher. We chose colors that relate to the sea and the earth, to carry the soothing, calm nature of Nantucket throughout the room.The natural cherry cabinetry adds
