Public Walking Tours begin May 31st!

It’s May, which means it’s almost time for our public walking tours to return!

Our popular downtown tour, A Walk Down Main Street, will be offered on Tuesdays at 3 PM, from May 31st through October 4th. This 75-minute tour meets at the NPT offices at 11 Centre Street and explores the residential section of Main Street, up to the Civil War Monument, and ends back at the Pacific National Bank. Learn more about the social and cultural history of Nantucket as reflected in its architecture, and discover the stories of the Nantucketers who built and lived in these homes. Participants on this tour receive a copy of Betsy Tyler’s book, A Walk Down Main Street, included in the tour price. Click here to register for a Main Street tour.

Our ‘Sconset walking tours will be offered Thursdays at 3 PM, from June 2nd through October 6th. Join NPT Executive Director Mary Bergman for a 75-minute stroll through the charming lanes of Siasconset, and learn about the early whale houses and the village’s boom as a resort and actor’s colony in the late-19th century. Tours meet at the offices of the ‘Sconset Trust at 1 New Street, ‘Sconset. Click here to register!
